What Are Convertible Tights?

Convertible tights

Tracy Wicklund
Question: What Are Convertible Tights?
Answer: Dance tights are available in a variety of different forms. "Convertible" tights appear as regular footed tights, but provide a small whole in the bottom of the foot so they can be "converted" to footless. One advantage of convertible tights is the ability to quickly pull the tights off the foot, allowing a ballet dancer to adjust pointe shoe pads, or to quickly slip on a pair of flip-flops.
