Fun and Fitness Through Dance

By , About.com Guide

Many teachers are discovering Dancercise Kids®, a program for teaching dance and fitness to young children in a positive, non-competitive atmosphere. Through the program, children learn self-confidence, expression, fine and gross motor skills, singing, moving and healthy habits. Kids listen and interact to upbeat educational songs while practicing jazz, tap and ballet choreography.

What Is Dancercise Kids?

Dancercise Kids is a program of dance, fitness and creative movements developed to encourage children to engage in dance. Dancercise Kids provides dance classes to kids in pre-schools. The company is expanding through a number of avenues, including the elementary schools, curriculum licensing, video and music.

Dancercise Kids provides a comprehensive curriculum of dance, fitness and education to children of all ages through mobile units. The curriculum is also available as a full training package for other teachers, dance studios, fitness centers and child care centers. Founder and CEO, Tessa Pfeifer, is an emerging children’s recording artist.

The Dancercise Kids' Mission

The Dancercise Kids mission is to help children build strong minds and happy hearts by making fitness fun. The founders believe that children are born with a vast array of promise and talents that, in our 19th century education system, are often not realized.

History of Dancercise Kids

Founded in 1987, Dancercise Kids has been providing fitness, dance and creative movements classes to kids for over 20 years. Predominantly offering classes through accredited childcare centers, certified instructors have taught the curriculum to tens of thousands of kids. Dancercise Kids is focusing its efforts on bringing the life lessons on healthy habits, manners and fitness to every kid through music, video and books.
